Treasure Troves: Exploring Local Archives

Date:
Wednesday, October 20, 2021 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Archives (wherever they may be located) house collections of documents or records providing information about places, institutions, or groups of people.  Encompassing both the fantastical and the mundane, archives offer glimpses into the lives of individuals and illuminates our communities over time.  They are a fascinating and invaluable community and scholarly resource.  Did you know that the KFL&A region boasts multiple archives, including: Lennox & Addington Archives; St. Joseph’s Region of the Religious Hospitalers of St. Joseph; Queen’s Archives; Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul, as well as the local history and genealogical collection at KFPL...each capturing and recording different, but intersecting narratives and experiences?

Join us on Wednesday October 20th 2021, 6pm-8pm, to meet our local archivists, learn about their collections, what they have to offer, how they can enrich your knowledge and research, and how to access them in the time of COVID-19.  Our panelists will also reveal their favourite item from their collections, and why they love what they do!
