Wally Dion: The Thunderbird Series

Artist Wally Dion will deliver a talk on his Thunderbird Series. His assemblage Thunderbird (Series), a new acquisition, is included in the exhibition Renew: Indigenous Art from the Collection. Dion is a Saskatoon-born artist who currently lives in Binghamton, New York. In his Thunderbird Series, he uses new materials such as computer circuit boards to explore the past and present meanings of this indigenous symbol.Dion has a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Saskatchewan (2004) and an MFA in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design (2013).
