Date
Fri, 03/24/2017 - 09:00 - Fri, 03/24/2017 - 13:00

The Unvarnished Truth demonstrates the ways in which art historians, conservators, and conservation scientists advance understanding of a painting’s physical history. This series of talks by some of the show’s contributors elucidates the ways in which these avenues of inquiry support each other. After a tour by the exhibition’s curators, Dr Nenagh Hathaway and Dr Brandi MacDonald, we present talks by Professors Stephanie S. Dickey, Ron Spronk, and Alison Murray of Queen’s Art History and Art Conservation program. Gianfranco Pocobene, Head of Conservation and Paintings Conservator at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston, and an alumnus of Queen’s Master in Art Conservation program, will also speak. This event is free and open to all, but registration is required: call (613) 533.2190.AGNES ETHERINGTON ART CENTREQueen’s University36 University AvenueKingston, Ontario, Canada K7L 3N6T (613) 533.2190F (613) 533.6765aeac@queensu.ca
