Where: West Hall Room, Outdoor Centre, Little Cataraqui Conservation Area, 1655 Perth Rd., Glenburnie, ON.Admission: $40Please join Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre in celebrating its 35th anniversary being held at the Outdoor Centre at the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area. Come spend a lovely afternoon with us at a picturesque site to enjoy live music, wine tastings, light food and refreshments, giveaways, and a raffle for great prizes donated by our many generous sponsors. The Downtown Trio with James Wannamaker will be playing a mix of jazz standards and originals. James Wannamaker plays alto, tenor, and soprano sax, and the trio is Sean Jensen, drums, Sean Fritz, guitar, and Noah St. Amand, bass. Wine tastings will be provided by Prince Edward County’s Casa-Dea Estates Winery. The winery has based their wine and services on a simple philosophy: "Good wine, good food, good friends, and a great location!" That‘s exactly what we have in mind for our celebration! A video installation by New Media Workspace Coordinator Matt Kyba will give a dynamic view of the accomplishments of the gallery over the past 35 years. One highlight of the event will be a group photo with past, present and future Modern Fuel members. Incorporated on Oct. 12th, 1977 as the Kingston Artist’s Association, Modern Fuel has been a catalyst for cultural activity in the region for over three decades. When everyone involved with the organization gets together for this photograph, fireworks are guaranteed. The group will gather for their photo around Bill Vazan's Two Tattoos, an outdoor sculpture close to the Outdoor Centre that was commissioned by Modern Fuel in 2000 to cap off its "Art For Earth's Sake" Millenium Project in the Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area. We will be unveiling a commemorative plaque about the project at the event.Modern Fuel is proud to have been a showcase for the work of some of Kingston’s and Canada’s finest artists, and we are grateful for the continued support from the Kingston community over the years. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards Modern Fuel’s programming costs and costs associated with its upcoming move to the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning. Attend this event to celebrate a significant achievement and support Modern Fuel at the time of its 35th anniversary! Tickets to the event are $40 and are available at Modern Fuel (21 Queen St.). They can also be ordered by telephone with a credit card. They will also be available at the door on the day of the event. For further information, contact:Michael Davidge or Denise LoveModern Fuel Artist-Run Centre21 Queen St, Kingston, ON,K7K 1A1 (613) 548-4883 info@modernfuel.orgwww.modernfuel.org
