Get ready to walk! Jane’s Walk Weekend 2024 is happening  Friday May 3rd to Sunday May 5th.

Join the LPAA on Saturday May 4th and Sunday May 5th at 10:00am for two different walks at Lemoine Point Conservation Area and Rotary Park. See the full details and links below!

Saturday May 4th @ 10:00am

Walk with the Land to a Ceremony for the Waters
Walk Description:  This is a walk to honour the Lemoine Point area and its place on the waters of Lake Ontario into the St. Lawrence waterway. Traditional First Nation’s water routes tell us this area was a significant Haudenosaunee community landscape and a important place of arrival and departure within the territory, where Nation to Nation Protocols would have been performed. In the spirit of ancestral continuance and relationship to place, we will share cultural stories and hold space for a ceremonial action of reciprocity with the land and waters of this landscape.

Meeting Place: South Parking Lot – Lemoine Point Conservation Area, Front Road entrance
Walk Leaders and Organizers: Eartha, Terri-Lynn Brennan, JP Longboat, LodgePole Arts Alliance

Sunday May 5th @ 10:00am

Listen and Learn from All Our Tall Ones, the Trees
Walk Description:  This is a walk to honour the Lemoine Point area and its hosting of one of the few old-growth forest landscapes in the region. This forest also holds many stories of the people who walked and utilized this landscape for millenia. In the spirit of ancestral continuance and relationship to place, we will share cultural stories and hold space for a ceremonial action of reciprocity with the land and waters of this landscape.

Meeting Place: Rotary Park parking lot, 1285 Coverdale Drive
Walk Leaders and Organizers: Eartha, Terri-Lynn Brennan, JP Longboat, Paul Chaput, LodgePole Arts Alliance
