Fueled by profound social and political change, diverse stylistic approaches arose. Not all artists, however, thrived in this competitive environment. On what factors did a “successful style” depend? Drawing upon the ArsRoma database and the rich and complex data in it, Prof Dr Sybille Ebert-Schifferer will consider this innovative research vehicle and its contributions to our current understanding of early Baroque painting in Rome.This talk is free and open to the public.
