A dedication ceremony and gravestone installation in memory of fallen Kingston Penitentiary Officer John James McCormick will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 718 Division Street, Kingston.Officer McCormick died as the result of wounds he received while apprehending an inmate who had attacked another officer at Kingston Penitentiary on July 13, 1936 and for the past 76 years, the gravesite of this Officer has been unmarked.
