Welcome to our Doors Open 2021 Kingston!  Be part of that unique behind the scenes peeks within Kingston's cultural attractions!St. Andrew's has been an integral part of the history of Kingston and Canada since the completion of the city's first stone church on a limestone ridge overlooking the harbour in 1822.  It was at St. Andrew's that Queen's University was begun (with a charter that states it must be situated within three miles of St. Andrew's!)  Two Fathers of Confederation were raised in and members of this congregation.  The current sanctuary includes amazing stained glass windows, the initials of WWI ace Billy Bishop and other RMC cadet officers carved into the pews, a 3000 pipe organ and nine tower bells.  The large adjoining manse was completed in 1841 and is listed by Heritage Canada as "one of the finest  homes in the city."Our Doors Open Tours are set up to follow health and safety guidelines as outlined in the Step 3 – Reopening Ontario legislation and KFL&A Public Health Unit specific protocols. Each of our participating sites has outlined their capacities and available tickets numbers are based on their input. Please remember to bring an appropriate face mask or covering as recommended by the Kingston Public Health Unit.
