Graham’s Pharmacy and Apothecary museum is situated in the heart of downtown Kingston right on the corner of the Market Square. Erected in 1837, 328 King Street East is a fine example of Neoclassical Revival architecture in Kingston from the early 20th century. Originally constructed as a bank, the 3-storey building was designed in the “temple bank” tradition. The symmetrically organized building features ashlar stone, pilasters and other ornamentation indicative of this style. Currently being run as a fully functioning pharmacy, Graham’s has one of the largest apothecary artefacts on display and has the feel of walking back in time with its oak finish and large brass chandeliers. It is also officially one of Kingston’s 24 museums on the Kingston Trolley tours.Come check us out now and get a glimpse at Canada’s medical history.
