We are pleased to partner once again with the City of Kingston and the Museum of Health Care in presenting the next chapter of the series Caring for Your Treasures. This session will focus on the objects used in family celebrations, such as silver table services, linens and christening gowns. It will also provide a behind-the-scenes look at collections work in your area museums. Join Museum of Health Care Collections Manager Kathy Karkut, City of Kingston Civic Collections Technician Sarah Forsyth and Agnes Etherington Art Centre Collections Manager Jennifer Nicoll for an engaging talk on a variety of preventative conservation techniques for preserving family heirlooms. Visit work stations where we'll demonstrate how different artefacts are cared for in museums. Then join us for a question and answer period. Participants are encouraged to bring photographs of their treasured objects for discussion. Spaces are limited for this free event; to register to register call Chantal Rousseau at 613.533.2190 or email chantal.rousseau@queensu.caLocation: Agnes Etherington Art Centre (University Ave at Bader Lane)Date & Time: Saturday, April 12, 2-5pm Cost: Free
