In this workshop at the MacLachlan Woodworking Museum, participants will learn all the skills to build a cedar strip canoe. Using hand tools and locally harvested eastern white cedar, the group will learn the basics of strongback design, selecting materials, building the bow and keel, laying in strips, and glassing the hull. At the end of the 7 days, students will get to paddle the vessel they built on Grass Creek. Course will run 9-5 everyday from June 17th to June 24th.
