Join us for an evening of celebration as the Museum of Health Care launches its first mobile app titled “Transformation of the Kingston General Hospital, 1835-1914.” The app, which can be used as a walking tour, explores the history of hospital development in the 19th and early 20th centuries by charting the expansion of Kingston General Hospital. The evening will include a lecture by local architectural historian Dr. Jennifer McKendry, on selected architectural aspects at the hospital, as it responded to changing needs. Dr. Jane Errington of Queen’s University will deliver opening remarks. Museum Curator Dr. Pamela Peacock and Museum founder Dr. James Low will provide insights about the app. Q&A and refreshments will follow.Location: Botterell Hall, Room B139 (18 Stuart Street), Queen's University Date & Time: Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.Cost: FreeParking: Free event parking in the Ann Baillie Building & upper GIDRU lots (George Street)Information: 613-548-2419 or info@museumofhealthcare.ca.This project was funded in part by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Government of Ontario.
