Artist Yam Lau will discuss the investigations into femininity and space in Chinese script and architecture in his video work Nüshu: Echo Chambers. In Beijing curator Fu Xiaodong’s presentation, contemporary theories reframe Taoism and Chinese classical landscape painting. Canada-based curator Yan Zhou will address a collective response to the dilemma of breathing in China in her ongoing project, through which Canadian and Chinese artists respond to smog pollution and the struggle for existence in China.
