Social Media Marketing Assistant

The volunteer Social Media Marketing Assistant will work as part of a close and enthusiastic team to promote events and exhibits online for members of the Kingston Association of Museums, Art Galleries, and Historic Sites (KAM). The objective is to increase public engagement with member institutions through improved marketing efforts. The Assistant will ensure that both residents and tourists have the opportunity to find the information they require to experience our rich cultural heritage.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Connect with KAM member site representatives to collect posting content
  • push updates to the social networks (i.e. website, twitter, Facebook and Instagram)
  • Collect, write, and publish stories for KAM’s blog
  • Review and update website content

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent editor/written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience with social media
  • Comfortable with and/or willing to learn Wordpress
  • Ability to work independently

Time Commitment

Flexible hours and opportunities to work both/either at KAM Offices and/or from home.
