Doors Open Information Ambassador

Do you love architecture, design, and history? Do you take pride in Kingston? If so, volunteer with Doors Open Kingston! 

We seek committed volunteers on June 16, 2018 to greet visitors and share information about the event. If this sounds like you, register to volunteer by completing the Volunteer Application form. As a Doors Open Kingston (DOK) volunteer you will meet like-minded individuals, and more!

To participate as a volunteer

  • Enjoy dealing with the public
  • Have good communication skills
  • Appreciate the architecture and history of Kingston
  • Become familiar with the Doors Open Kingston program
  • Are 18 years of age or older

Responsibilities as a volunteer

  • Greet visitors and encourage them to visit other Doors Open buildings
  • Commit to a four-hour or eight-hour shift
  • Track attendance at sites
  • Become familiar with the Doors Open Kingston venues
  • Liaise with the KAM Volunteer Coordinator
  • Stand for long periods of time

Free Volunteer Orientation

The Kingston Association of Museums, Art Galleries and Historic Sites (KAM) is collaborating with the City of Kingston to assist with volunteer support for the Doors Open event. KAM is offering:

  • Volunteer orientation on Saturday, June 2 with information about the Doors Open event and location of participating sites.
  • (optional) volunteer registration with KAM’s volunteer program to ensure site’s volunteers receive training for health and safety, customer service, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
