Professional Development Committee

KAM's Professional Development Committee develops, facilitates, and delivers learning opportunities for individuals and organizations in the cultural heritage sector in Kingston and area, based on the following principles and objectives. Learning opportunities will be:

  • based on sound adult education principles and practices;
  • based on professional standards/best practices for the cultural heritage sector;
  • delivered using the most effective and efficient means appropriate to the content being taught;
  • evaluated and assessed as part of the delivery process;
  • developed collaboratively through community partnerships where feasible.


  • All KAM members (in good standing) are eligible for appointment to the committee.
  • Professionals with education experience in museums and/or art galleries, professional development, and mentoring may also be recruited.
  • Appointments are confirmed by the Board.
