KAM Committee Member

There are three committees of KAM for you to join:

  1. Marketing Committee
  2. Programming and Community Engagement Committee
  3. Professional Development Committee

These committees are small, active working groups.

 1. The Marketing Committee sets the vision for and manages the overall marketing strategy of KAM to support the aims and objectives of KAM. The areas of committee responsibility include:

  • Set priorities for short-term and long-term marketing and promotional efforts.
  • Review the marketing plan to ensure progress toward annual and long-range goals.
  • Develop and review KAM marketing collateral and copy.
  • Coordinate efforts around the KAM website, social media communications, events, and other marketing projects.
  • Collaborate with other organisations with similar aims and objectives, where appropriate.
  • Develop and use performance metrics to track the success of the associations marketing efforts.
  • Market research member needs and expectations across current and future target markets.
  • Provide annual marketing budget recommendations.

Committee meetings are typically the last Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. Meetings are typically held at the Miller Museum of Geology.

 

2. The Programming and Community Engagement Committee's purpose is to:

  • Research, develop, and support innovative collaborative programming and community engagement.
  • Advocate for programming and community engagement funding.
  • Connect and increase community partnerships.
  • Create learning opportunities for all.

Committee meetings are typically the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m.

 

3. KAM's Professional Development Committee develops, facilitates, and delivers learning opportunities for individuals and organizations in the cultural heritage sector in Kingston and area, based on the following principles and objectives. Learning opportunities will be:

  • based on sound adult education principles and practices;
  • based on professional standards/best practices for the cultural heritage sector;
  • delivered using the most effective and efficient means appropriate to the content being taught;
  • evaluated and assessed as part of the delivery process;
  • developed collaboratively through community partnerships where feasible.

Committee meetings are typically the third Monday of each month at 10 a.m
