Doors Open Kingston is an opportunity for anyone to enjoy free access to Kingston venues to experiencing the architecture and cultural heritage through tours and education. The event takes place on Saturday June 16, 2018 from 10 AM to 4 PM at participating sites throughout Kingston.

Doors Open Kingston provides a once-a-year opportunity for residents and visitors alike to experience a deeper look at Kingston’s storied past, vibrant present and promising future. People enjoy free, behind the scenes access at Kingston venues to experience the architecture and cultural heritage through tours.

Volunteer opportunities are available to be ambassadors at many buildings participating in Doors Open Kingston. We seek committed volunteers to assist with greeting visitors and sharing information about the event. If this sounds like you, register to volunteer by completing the Volunteer Application form. As a Doors Open Kingston volunteer you will meet likeminded individuals, and more!

Free Volunteer Orientation

The Kingston Association of Museums, Art Galleries and Historic Sites (KAM) is collaborating with the City of Kingston to assist with volunteer support for the Doors Open event. KAM is offering:

  • Volunteer orientation on Saturday, June 2 with information about the Doors Open event and location of participating sites.
  • (optional) volunteer registration with KAM’s volunteer program to ensure sites' volunteers receive training for health and safety, customer service, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
