Talk at Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre; but first see the exhibition at the Art + Media Lab in the Isabel Bader Centre, on from April 5-13!Access Art Queen’s works alongside the radical model of disability, viewing perceived impairment as bodily diversity and disability as being created by social oppression and marginalization. In this talk, Emily Osborne and Charlotte Johnston reflect on their work in developing Access Art Queen's, focusing in particular on disability as socially produced. In their work, they seek to further explore the lived experiences and intersections of disability and other social identities through art and as art. In breaking down expectations of art as purely visual, their display of various mediums allows for all individuals to experience art in as many ways as possible.Access Art Queen’s is a collaborative project between Queen’s University students Emily Osborne and Charlotte Johnston and the Equity Office at Queen’s University. The exhibit is supported by the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts. The installation will be in place for two weeks in the Art and Media Lab of the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts from April 5th to 13th as a part of the Isabel’s Human Rights Arts Festival.Drawing by Lauren Westecott
